No Man’s Sky Won’t Have a Story

Upcoming super-huge, open-universe, space-sim No Man’s Sky will not feature a story per se but, according to this new video, will feature lore.

What this means, says developer Sean Murphy of Hello Games, is that if there are buildings present on a planet, say, then they will have been built by a particular civilisation.

However, they are collaborating with author and illustrator Dave Gibbons (he did Watchmen with Alan Moore) on a No Man’s Sky comic which could accompany the game to give it an added layer of value.
