Stardew Valley’s multiplayer update is available in BETA form
Stardew Valley’s multiplayer update will be launched soon, and the developers are giving players an exciting opportunity to sample the goods early. Their BETA update supports up to four players, and also includes new Stardew Valley single-player content too.
The update includes ‘server mode’, allowing players to configure the visibility of their own server (‘Friends Only’, ‘Invite Only’, and ‘Offline’). This means players can invite people to their farm in a variety of ways, including permitting direct access for Steam/GOG friends via the co-op menu, and sending invite codes.
How to access the beta update in Steam*
The developers say: “Right click the game in your library and select properties. On the window that pops up there will be a ‘betas’ tab. In the text box, type the password for the branch: jumpingjunimos. Then click the ‘Check Code’ button.”
Players can use existing save files, but a few words of caution though: as the update is still a beta, the developers recommend you backup and save your files prior to the update.
You can read more about this update on the developers blog here.
