Stardew Valley Multiplayer Update
Stardew Valley now has a multiplayer option! Within the multiplayer option, Robin will offer to build up to 3 cabins on your farm. Each of your friends will control of of these cabins, which will house a farmhand.
A farmhand can do almost everything a main player can do – including farming, mining, foraging and fishing. However, there are only certain decisions can only be made by the main player. This includes when to sleep, when to start and end festivals, and whether to side with Joja.
Friends are invited through Steam therefore there is no need to set up a server to run multiplayer. There is currently no non-Steam method to invite friends although it is assumed the process will be similar, when developed.
Development efforts have been focused on synchronising multiple games over the Internet. Almost every source file has been touched, and 15,000 lines of code have been rewritten!
