What laptop do you need to play Minecraft?

Can you play Minecraft on a Chromebook?
I like the idea of setting up a fleet of cheap laptops over Christmas and having a big build-off with friends, but I have a further question… We like to play with the Tekkit pack mods, which add a lot more weight to the standard game.
Will the laptops mentioned in PC Gamer’s article be able to handle these mods? Comments welcomed below.
