Description
Victoria II is a grand strategy game developed by Paradox Development Studio. It’s a sequel to 2003’s Victoria. It was announced on 19 August 2009 and was released on 13 August 2010.
Like its predecessor, Victoria II allows for the player to take control of and manage a 19th-century state including its political, diplomatic, economic, military, and technological aspects. The game’s time frame is 1836 to 1936.
You can play as over 200 different nations and over the course of the game (and as a result of your decisions) nations can fragment or be bound together. The game’s primary focus is an economic one and it has lots of diplomatic features to enable you to succeed.
While warfare is a feature, it isn’t the main point of the game, unlike some of Paradox’s other strategy games, such as the Crusader Kings or Europa Universalis series.
