The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the sequel to The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

In the game you are again playing as the witcher Geralt of Rivia and for what will most likely be the last time. The game’s fantasy setting sees you in a world rife with nasty monsters that you, as a witcher, are able to dispatch. In The Witcher 3, you also play as Ciri, who is an excellent swordfighter.

The game world is much larger than in previous versions of the game, and is said to be around 20% larger than The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim including 2 huge cities and 25 smaller towns. Some parts of the world require a sailboat or a horse to access.

The level of detail of the game is particularly impressive: Geralt’s beard grows over time so you’ll need to visit a barber if you want it looking tidy. It also contains a dynamic day/night cycle, with certain creatures receiving boosts dependant on the time of day.

The developers, CD Projekt RED, have stressed their desire to maintain ‘full freedom of choice’ for the player meaning that the game requires the player to make difficult moral choices, as in previous versions.
